Make sure to remove all makeup properly before going to bed.
Having a good cleansing routine is important too in order to keep the skin pores clear, this should be done in the morning and then again at night, and after any strenuous activity that leads to sweating. The regular application of facial masks will also be beneficial, nothing fancy is needed for this a few traditional preparations that can be made in the kitchen will work well, this applies to cleansers and toners as well.
Avoid touching your face unless your hands are clean as this is a good way of spreading any bacteria that may be present.
If you are taking medications for another condition sometimes these can have an effect on the skin especially antibiotics, ask your doctor if you have any concerns about this.
Another thing that is often overlooked is stress and anxiety, having taken care of the physical well-being of your body, it is a good idea to get rid of stress, it may not actually cause acne but it can certainly trigger it.
It is not always so easy to avoid these days but it can have a negative impact on the body as well as the mind, some exercise or even a short walk can help alleviate stress, as can avoiding stressful situations where possible before they occur. A lot of the time we bring stress on ourselves by leaving insufficient time to do things or get somewhere, the answer to this is obvious but not always easy to carry out, your enemy is deadlines, don’t set them and try and avoid being held hostage to them.
All the above measures may at least help in preventing acne although if it happens it can only be controlled, but at least your mind, body and skin will have a head start.
